WSP in the Middle East are seeking a Senior Audio-Visual Systems Engineer to join our Amman team. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and industry-recognized qualifications in Audio Visual (AV) systems, with a working understanding of associated extra-low voltage (ELV) technologies. The role will participate in the design and delivery of AV and related building technology solutions across a diverse range of projects while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality Audio Visual and associated ELV technology solutions for a diverse range of building projects.
- Prepare and coordinate design deliverables at various project stages, including specifications, drawings, calculations, schedules, and technical reports, while ensuring compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Support and participate in client engagements by understanding AV technology requirements and assisting in the development of technical recommendations, conceptual solutions, project estimates, and workshop materials.
- Demonstrate an understanding of project delivery principles, including scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, technology vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Manage assigned tasks effectively and contribute to the development and mentoring of graduate and junior engineers.
- Coordinate with BIM engineers and technicians to support the digital delivery of AV Systems.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the following:
- ELV systems design
- Audio Visual systems design, including presentation, collaboration, conferencing, background music, public address, and control systems
- AV calculations and simulations, including display sizing, sightlines, loudspeaker coverage, speech intelligibility, and acoustic coordination
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (Electrical, Electronics, IT, Telecommunications, or equivalent).
- Approximately 7–12 years of post-graduate experience in AV systems design, with exposure to related ELV systems design and coordination.
- Industry-recognized Audio Visual certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, or equivalent are desirable.
- Experience in the design and coordination of Audio Visual systems across relevant project stages, including concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, and construction support.
- Hands-on experience with AV design and simulation software such as EASE, Vectorworks, and related digital design tools.
