Role Description The Senior Engineer role at DPU is a full-time, on-site position based in the Duhok Governorate, Iraq. The Senior Engineer will oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of technical and engineering projects within the university’s facilities, laboratories, or infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities may include designing and reviewing technical plans, supervising installations and upgrades, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinating with academic and administrative units. The Senior Engineer will also provide technical guidance, mentor junior staff, support research or instructional activities, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and systems.
Qualifications
- * Strong engineering foundation with experience in planning, designing, and implementing technical projects.
- Proficiency in using relevant engineering tools, software, and standards, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality assurance practices, and maintenance procedures for engineering systems and equipment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills in complex technical environments.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience in academic, institutional, or public-sector engineering roles is an advantage.
