Role Description The Senior Drafter is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, responsible for producing precise technical drawings and plans that support engineering, architectural, or construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include creating and updating detailed 2D and 3D drawings, revising plans based on stakeholder feedback, and ensuring that all documentation aligns with project specifications, standards, and regulations. The role involves close coordination with engineers, designers, and project managers to clarify requirements, resolve technical issues, and maintain version control for all drawings. The Senior Drafter will also support quality checks, prepare drawing sets for permits and execution, and help optimize drafting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and experience producing detailed technical drawings and layouts.
- Solid understanding of engineering or architectural standards, building codes, and drafting best practices.
- Ability to interpret and translate sketches, specifications, and technical data into clear, accurate drawings.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple drawing revisions and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and responding to feedback.
- Proven experience in a drafting role, ideally at senior or lead level within construction, engineering, or architecture sectors.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- Ability to work on-site in Cairo and commit to full-time working hours.
- Experience with document management systems and basic MS Office tools is an advantage.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling or BIM tools and experience supporting large or complex projects is beneficial.
