The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to lead and execute audit engagements covering financial, operational, compliance, internal-control, and risk-management activities.
The ideal candidate will plan and perform complex audits, evaluate control environments, identify risks and control deficiencies, analyze financial and operational information, communicate findings to stakeholders, and develop practical recommendations that strengthen governance, compliance, efficiency, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- * Develop annual and periodic audit plans based on organizational risks, priorities, regulatory requirements, and management objectives.
- Lead audit engagements from planning and risk assessment through fieldwork, reporting, remediation, and follow-up.
- Conduct financial, operational, compliance, process, and internal-control audits.
- Assess business processes to identify financial, operational, compliance, technology, and fraud-related risks.
- Develop audit scopes, objectives, testing strategies, procedures, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Perform walkthroughs and document key business processes, controls, systems, and risk points.
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
- Perform substantive testing and control testing using appropriate audit methodologies.
- Review financial records, accounting transactions, reconciliations, supporting documentation, contracts, and management reports.
- Analyze general ledger activity, journal entries, account balances, expenses, revenues, assets, liabilities, and other financial information.
- Test financial statement balances and transactions for accuracy, completeness, existence, occurrence, valuation, and appropriate classification.
- Review accounting policies and assess compliance with applicable financial reporting requirements.
- Evaluate operational processes for efficiency, effectiveness, consistency, and adherence to approved procedures.
- Review procurement, purchasing, vendor management, inventory, payroll, expenses, revenue, treasury, and other relevant business processes.
- Assess compliance with internal policies, delegated authorities, contractual requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify control gaps, process weaknesses, inefficiencies, compliance issues, and emerging risks.
- Perform data analysis to identify unusual transactions, anomalies, trends, exceptions, and potential control concerns.
- Use audit analytics and automated testing techniques to improve audit coverage and efficiency.
- Investigate suspected irregularities, control breaches, policy violations, and potential fraud indicators where assigned.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for significant audit findings and recurring control deficiencies.
- Develop practical recommendations addressing identified risks and control weaknesses.
- Assess management responses and proposed corrective actions for adequacy and feasibility.
- Track audit findings and remediation commitments through completion.
- Perform follow-up reviews to validate implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed audit working papers that clearly document procedures, evidence, findings, conclusions, and reviewer considerations.
- Maintain complete and organized audit evidence in accordance with applicable professional standards and internal methodologies.
- Ensure audit documentation is accurate, sufficient, relevant, and traceable.
- Prepare audit reports summarizing scope, methodology, findings, risk implications, recommendations, and management responses.
- Present significant findings and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate audit observations clearly and professionally to both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Escalate significant control deficiencies, compliance concerns, suspected misconduct, and material risks through appropriate channels.
- Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, IT, HR, Procurement, and other departments during audit engagements.
- Conduct interviews with process owners and key stakeholders to understand processes, controls, risks, and operational challenges.
- Evaluate segregation of duties, authorization controls, access controls, reconciliations, approvals, and monitoring activities.
- Review system access and application controls where relevant to audit objectives.
- Assess IT-dependent controls and reliance on automated processes in financial and operational environments.
- Coordinate with IT audit specialists or external experts for audits requiring specialized technical knowledge.
- Review third-party, supplier, contractor, and service-provider controls where relevant.
- Support audits involving subsidiaries, branches, international operations, joint ventures, or other business entities.
- Evaluate compliance with contractual obligations and internal governance requirements.
- Support regulatory, external, and statutory audit activities by coordinating documentation and responses.
- Review external audit findings and assess implications for internal controls and business processes.
- Monitor changes in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and professional auditing practices.
- Update audit programs and testing procedures to reflect changes in risk and control environments.
- Maintain an audit universe and risk assessment covering relevant business processes and organizational activities.
- Contribute to enterprise risk assessments and identify areas requiring increased audit attention.
- Develop risk-based audit approaches that focus resources on significant risks and high-impact processes.
- Monitor recurring findings and identify systemic control weaknesses across business units.
- Benchmark internal processes and controls against recognized industry practices where appropriate.

Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate should have strong experience in internal audit, external audit, financial audit, operational audit, risk assurance, compliance audit, or internal controls, preferably within a complex international organization, professional-services firm, financial institution, technology company, manufacturing environment, or diversified business.
