Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, responsible for overseeing the financial accounting and reporting processes for the firm and its clients. This position includes managing general ledger activities, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and UAE regulations. The Senior Accountant will monitor accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank and intercompany accounts, and manage accruals and prepayments. The role involves leading budgeting and forecasting cycles, analyzing variances, and providing financial insights to support strategic decisions. The Senior Accountant will also coordinate with auditors, improve internal controls, mentor junior accounting staff, and support process optimization across accounting and finance operations.
Qualifications
- * Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and month-end/year-end close activities.
- Experience with taxation and regulatory compliance, particularly in the UAE or GCC region, including VAT, corporate tax, and statutory reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, as well as advanced skills in spreadsheet and data analysis tools.
- Background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with the ability to interpret data and present clear recommendations.
- Knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and audit processes, with experience working with external and internal auditors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA are highly beneficial.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience, including prior responsibility at a senior or supervisory level.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients.
- Experience in professional services, consulting, or business setup environments in the UAE is an advantage.
