About the Role
We are searching on behalf of our client for this role. This position is not with OVI.
We are hiring pure sanctions professionals for a Sharjah-based bank at both Investigator and Team Lead levels. This role is entirely focused on sanctions, with an emphasis on name and payments screening, rather than being part of a broader AML or transaction monitoring remit.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and investigate sanctions alerts from name and payments screening systems.
• Conduct payments screening investigations and escalate true matches in line with bank policy.
• Analyse hits against OFAC, UN, EU, UK OFSI, UAETL, and other applicable regimes.
• Document investigations clearly and support STR/SAR decisions where required.
• (Team Lead) Oversee investigation quality, mentor investigators, and partner with Compliance/FCC on complex cases and process standards.
Your Profile
• Must currently be in a pure sanctions role (name screening and payments screening), not sanctions as a side component of AML/TM.
• Prior AML/TM experience is fine; current sanctions expertise is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of global sanctions frameworks and payments-related typologies.
• Experience in banking or regulated financial services (UAE preferred).
• Comfortable working full-time on-site in Sharjah.
• Team Lead candidates: proven experience leading or senioring a dedicated sanctions team.
What's Offered
• Investigator: up to AED 25,000 per month.
• Team Lead: up to AED 35,000 per month.
• Permanent position.
