SAFETY OFFICER – HIGH-RISE MEP CONSTRUCTION

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Safety Officer with strong hands-on experience in MEP construction and high-rise building projects. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enforcing HSE standards across the project site and ensuring safe execution of all MEP activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify hazards and unsafe practices.
- Monitor MEP activities including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting and ELV works.
- Ensure compliance with approved Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Permit-to-Work procedures.
- Monitor high-risk activities including work at height, hot work, lifting operations, scaffolding, electrical works and confined spaces.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and regular safety awareness sessions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with site safety procedures.
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain HSE inspection records, reports and other safety documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors on safety matters.
- Follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely closure of safety observations.
- Support client/consultant HSE inspections and project audits.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in HSE, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–6 years of relevant construction safety experience.
- Mandatory experience in high-rise building construction.
- Mandatory MEP construction/site experience.
- NEBOSH IGC / IOSH or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
- Good knowledge of construction safety standards, risk assessments and HSE procedures.
- UAE/GCC construction experience will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination and site management skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates with proven experience working as a Safety Officer for an MEP contractor on high-rise building projects will be preferred. The candidate should be proactive, disciplined, and capable of independently managing day-to-day site safety requirements.
