Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and/or support the design of roads, highways, access roads, service roads, junctions, interchanges, and associated infrastructure.
- Prepare and review road alignments, profiles, cross-sections, junction layouts, and detailed design drawings.
- Ensure all road and highway designs comply with RTA requirements, project specifications, and applicable UAE standards.
- Coordinate with RTA and other relevant authorities throughout the design and approval process.
- Review technical drawings, design calculations, specifications, reports, and other engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including drainage, utilities, structures, traffic, geotechnical, and infrastructure disciplines.
- Identify and resolve design interfaces, technical issues, and conflicts with other disciplines.
- Review contractor and subconsultant technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, and design proposals.
- Support the preparation of tender and construction documentation.
- Participate in technical meetings with the client, authorities, contractors, and consultants.
- Monitor design deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and agreed timelines.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and design team members.
- Review and provide technical solutions for road design modifications, improvements, and site-related issues.
- Coordinate road design requirements with existing and proposed utilities and infrastructure.
- Assist in ensuring safe, practical, and constructible road design solutions.
Requirements:
- 7–15 years of total professional experience in the design of roads and highways projects.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant Dubai experience.
- RTA approval as a Roads/Highway Engineer is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Dubai RTA standards, specifications, guidelines, and approval procedures.
- Proven experience in the design of urban roads, highways, interchanges, junctions, access roads, and service roads.
- Good understanding of horizontal and vertical alignment, road geometry, pavement, earthworks, drainage, and road safety requirements.
- Experience coordinating with RTA and other UAE authorities.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary infrastructure design and coordination.
- Experience in reviewing design calculations, drawings, technical reports, and specifications.
- Strong communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
- Airport project experience is an advantage,
- Experience with major infrastructure or large-scale development projects is preferred.
