About the Role
We are seeking a sharp, analytical and detail-oriented Risk Analyst to join our Dubai Office. This role serves as a critical link between all stakeholders on the trading floor, ensuring the integrity of our oil and refined products trading portfolios, where precision and a proactive approach to risk are essential. You will be responsible for the end-to-end accuracy of Trade Validation, Cost Economics, Position monitoring, and Daily P&L.
Key Responsibilities
- P&L & Exposure Reporting: Produce and validate daily P&L and market risk exposure, providing clear attribution of daily gains and losses.
- Trade Lifecycle Control: Ensure all physical and financial trades are accurately recorded in the ETRM system, including secondary costs like freight, storage, demurrage, insurance, etc.
- Position Monitoring: Maintain a real-time view of the "Greeks" (Delta, Spread, Basis) and monitor trading activity against established risk limits.
- Inventory & Hedging: Reconcile physical stock levels with financial hedges to ensure the portfolio is accurately protected against price volatility.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement automation in reporting workflows and support the enhancement of CTRM/ETRM data integrity.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise daily with Traders, Operations, and Finance to resolve price discrepancies and settlement breaks.
Skills & Experience
- Experience: 3-4 years of experience in Risk within the energy trading sector.
- Education: University degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Market Knowledge: Solid understanding of physical oil markets, hedging instruments (Swaps/Futures), and benchmark pricing.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Excel; experience with ETRM systems is essential.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot anomalies in complex data sets under tight deadlines.
- Communication: Fluent in English with the ability to communicate confidently with the trading floor.
