Role Description The Restaurant Food Worker – Cold Station is a full-time, hybrid role based in Amman, with some tasks that may be completed from home (such as menu documentation or coordination). On-site, this team member prepares cold dishes, including salads, bowls, and other chilled items, following standardized recipes and presentation guidelines. Daily responsibilities include ingredient preparation, portioning, assembling menu items, labeling, and maintaining proper food storage and hygiene practices. The role involves restocking the cold station, monitoring inventory levels, and communicating with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations during all-day service. The Food Worker also supports general cleaning duties, complies with food safety regulations, and contributes to a cooperative, guest-focused work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in basic food preparation, especially cold kitchen or garde manger work, including handling fresh produce and chilled ingredients.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and safe food storage practices (e.g., temperature control, labeling, and rotation).
- Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards accurately and consistently.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to work efficiently in a fast-paced, all-day dining environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with kitchen, service, and management teams.
- Comfort with hybrid work arrangements, including basic record-keeping or inventory updates that may be done remotely.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry ingredients and supplies, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality settings is preferred; formal culinary training is a plus but not required.
