(HCO) is a leading multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm in Saudi Arabia, providing integrated architectural, engineering, planning, and project management consultancy services. We deliver comprehensive solutions that support clients throughout the entire project lifecycle.
We are currently seeking an experienced Resident Engineer – Landscape (Softscape & Hardscape) to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- * Supervise day-to-day landscape construction activities covering both softscape and hardscape works.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, method statements, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Inspect and approve plant materials, soil, irrigation systems, paving materials, samples, and mock-ups, including nursery inspections.
- Monitor soil preparation, planting, irrigation installation and testing, paving, levels, drainage, retaining walls, water features, and site finishes.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, design changes, WIRs, MIRs, NCRs, and other technical documentation.
- Coordinate landscape works with civil, structural, architectural, MEP, lighting, and utility disciplines.
- Provide technical input on plant selection, local climate suitability, water efficiency, constructability, and long-term maintenance.
- Monitor contractor progress against the approved programme and support the review of quantities, interim payments, variations, claims, and EOTs.
- Ensure protection of existing trees and sensitive areas and monitor water use and waste management requirements.
- Lead snagging, testing and commissioning, handover, as-built reviews, O&M manual verification, and defects liability activities.
Qualifications
- * Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Horticultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant landscape construction supervision experience, with strong exposure to both softscape and hardscape works.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Saudi Arabia.
- Minimum 8 years of experience working with a consultancy firm.
- Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on large-scale public realm, streetscape, park, resort, heritage, or urban regeneration projects.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, soil preparation, tree and palm transplanting, turf, native planting, and arid-climate landscaping.
- Strong experience in stone and precast paving, concrete, retaining walls, edging, drainage, waterproofing, and site furniture.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
- Excellent command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Strong communication, reporting, stakeholder management, technical coordination, and problem-solving skills.
