Job Summary
The Reporting Engineer provides senior management with an accurate, timely, and consistent view of all projects across the company portfolio. The role consolidates progress, cost, resource, and risk data into clear executive reports and dashboards, highlighting issues that require management decisions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly portfolio reports for senior management.
- Develop and maintain executive dashboards covering progress, cash flow, manpower, safety, and quality.
- Draft concise executive summaries outlining project status, key variances, and required decisions.
- Prepare presentation materials for management meetings, board reviews, and client progress meetings.
- Progress Monitoring and Analysis
- Compare planned and actual progress against approved baseline programmes.
- Monitor milestones, critical-path activities, and look-ahead programmes, and flag delays early.
- Maintain issue logs and risk registers, reporting key risks, owners, and mitigation actions.
- Track client and consultant correspondence, RFIs, submittals, NCRs, and variation orders.
- Establish reporting templates, formats, and cut-off dates to ensure consistency across all projects.
- Ensure reports submitted by contractors to the client align with internal management reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 6-10 years of construction experience in infrastructure projects, including at least 4 years in project controls, planning, or reporting.
- Contractor-side experience on major infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to prepare management-level reports for multiple concurrent projects.
