Job Summary
The Radiology Technician / Specialist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. The role ensures high-quality imaging, appropriate patient preparation, safe equipment operation, and compliance with radiation protection and hospital standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays and other imaging modalities according to qualifications and approved scope of practice
- Prepare and position patients appropriately while ensuring their comfort, safety, and understanding of procedures
- Operate, inspect, and maintain radiology equipment to ensure accurate imaging and safe operation
- Review image quality, maintain accurate patient records, and coordinate with radiologists and clinical teams
- Follow radiation protection protocols, infection prevention procedures, and patient safety requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, Radiological Sciences, or a related field
- Valid SCFHS professional classification and registration
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in diagnostic radiology or medical imaging
- Knowledge of radiology equipment, imaging techniques, radiation protection, and patient safety
- Hospital or healthcare imaging experience is preferred
