placemaker is working with a growing experiential design, events and fit-out business delivering exhibitions, corporate events, brand experiences and bespoke interiors for a range of leading clients.
they’re looking for a quantity surveyor to join their commercial team and help turn creative concepts into commercially viable projects, from initial costing through to delivery.
what you’ll be doing
- prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities and project budgets across exhibitions, events and fit-out projects
- review tender documents and interpret CAD drawings to develop accurate costings
- source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating competitive rates where required
- work closely with design, sales and operations teams to ensure projects are commercially viable and delivered within budget
- identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative solutions without compromising quality or the creative vision
- manage project variations and support the commercial close-out of projects alongside the wider finance and operations teams
what we’re looking for
- experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator / Commercial QS within exhibitions, events, and/or experiential.
- strong understanding of BOQs, estimating and project costing
- confident reading and interpreting CAD drawings
- experience working with suppliers and subcontractors
- strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines
- a collaborative communicator who can work across creative, commercial and operational teams
