As part of our expansion plans for 4th quarter of 2026, we are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team.
Job Purpose
The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects to ensure that work is delivered in line with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, quality requirements, and contractual commitments.
The role works closely with the Project Manager, site teams, engineering, procurement, subcontractors, consultants, and clients. It includes maintaining project documentation, monitoring progress, identifying execution risks, and using Primavera P6 to update and report on project schedules.
Key Accountabilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Support the preparation and maintenance of project execution plans and detailed schedules using Primavera P6.
- Break down project activities into measurable tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
- Update activity progress, actual start and finish dates, and forecast completion dates.
- Compare actual progress against the approved baseline schedule and identify delays or critical activities.
- Prepare short-term look-ahead plans in coordination with the Project Manager and site team.
- Highlight schedule risks and support the development of recovery actions.
Project Execution & Site Coordination
- Coordinate day-to-day project activities with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Review approved drawings, specifications, and scope requirements before and during execution.
- Follow up on site progress to ensure work is completed according to the agreed sequence and schedule.
- Identify technical or coordination issues and raise them to the Project Manager with proposed solutions.
- Coordinate material, equipment, and manpower requirements with the relevant teams.
- Attend site meetings and follow up on agreed actions.
Technical Documentation & Submittals
- Prepare, review, and track project documents, including material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, requests for information (RFIs), and inspection requests.
- Maintain updated document registers and ensure that the site team uses the latest approved revisions.
- Follow up on consultant and client comments to support timely approvals.
- Coordinate technical clarifications with engineering and site teams.
- Support the preparation of as-built drawings and handover documentation.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Collect accurate progress updates from the site and verify them against completed activities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports as required.
- Update project schedules in Primavera P6 and report deviations from planned progress.
- Track outstanding approvals, procurement items, site constraints, and action points that may affect project delivery.
- Provide the Project Manager with timely information on progress, delays, risks, and required decisions.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams to ensure project activities meet approved quality and safety requirements.
- Follow up on inspections, test results, observations, and corrective actions.
- Monitor the implementation of work in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project procedures.
- Escalate non-conforming work or safety concerns to the responsible teams.
Procurement & Subcontractor Coordination
- Coordinate with Procurement to follow up on materials and equipment required for project execution.
- Track critical deliveries against the project schedule.
- Follow up with subcontractors on work progress, deliverables, and site readiness.
- Identify potential delays caused by materials, approvals, or subcontractor performance and escalate them promptly.
Variations & Project Close-Out
- Identify and document changes in scope, site conditions, or client requirements.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing the technical documentation required for variation requests.
- Maintain records of instructions, approvals, progress, and project correspondence.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging, final inspections, and project handover activities.
- Ensure that outstanding technical documents and close-out requirements are tracked to completion.
Required Skills
- Good understanding of engineering and MEP / construction project execution.
- Practical proficiency in Primavera P6, including schedule updates, progress tracking, and reporting.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Good knowledge of project documentation, submittals, RFIs, and progress reports.
- Ability to identify schedule delays and communicate their potential impact.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering,.
Minimum Required Experience
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in engineering, MEP, construction, contracting, or project execution.
- Practical experience using Primavera P6 to update and monitor project schedules.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in construction, MEP, electromechanical, industrial, or engineering projects is preferred.
