Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee large-scale transmission and distribution projects involving 350 kV, 380 kV, 400 kV, or higher-voltage substations and transmission lines.
- Manage complete project lifecycles, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Demonstrate strong experience in executing major transmission projects for National Grid Saudi Arabia, preferably with direct involvement in at least one significant high-voltage project.
- Develop project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation frameworks.
- Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams across engineering, project controls, procurement, construction, quality, and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, international standards, utility requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
- Monitor project progress against contractual milestones, cost targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Manage client relationships, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify project risks, resolve critical technical and execution issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
- Oversee the design and execution of high-voltage substations, overhead transmission lines, underground cable systems, and associated infrastructure, as applicable.
- Ensure effective management of contracts, variations, claims, commercial negotiations, and change control.
- Drive HSE compliance, quality assurance, project governance, and operational excellence across all project activities.
- Lead project review meetings and present progress reports, financial performance, risk assessments, and recovery plans to senior management and clients.
- Coordinate with utility authorities and regulatory bodies to secure necessary approvals, inspections, energization clearances, and project handover.
- Ensure successful project completion within approved budgets, contractual requirements, and agreed timelines.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 22+ years of overall experience in the power transmission and distribution sector.
- Extensive experience in high-voltage transmission projects rated 380 kV and above, preferably 380 kV, 400 kV, or higher.
- Experience working with National Grid Saudi Arabia (National Grid SA) is strongly preferred.
- Must have successfully managed or directed at least one major high-voltage transmission project from execution through commissioning or handover.
- Strong expertise in project management, engineering coordination, construction, commissioning, and contract administration.
- Proven experience managing large project budgets, multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and client stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of transmission substations, transmission lines, power system infrastructure, and utility project standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification or project management certification is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, commercial, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
