Position Objective
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to contribute to the development, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise data platform, our Single Source of Truth (SSOT) built on AWS Redshift. This is a hands-on technical role focused on designing, building, and improving modern data infrastructure to support reliable, scalable, and efficient data solutions. The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines integrating information from our ERP (Business Central), e-commerce platforms (Magento/Hyva), CRM, marketing platforms (Meta, Google, Klaviyo, and others), and B2B systems into a governed and scalable warehouse/lakehouse architecture that supports analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives across the business. Reporting to IT/Technology leadership, this role will collaborate with Software Delivery, Marketing, Sales, and Finance stakeholders to improve data quality, accessibility, and reliability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Architecture
• Contribute to the design, development, maintenance, and improvement of the AWS-based enterprise data warehouse/lakehouse architecture, centered on Amazon Redshift.
• Implement and contribute technical recommendations and established architectural standards supporting analytics, reporting, AI, and machine-learning workloads.
• Support platform security, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency through implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
ETL/ELT Pipeline Development
• Design, build, and maintain robust, reusable, and well-monitored ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Integrate data from ERP, e-commerce, CRM, marketing, finance, and B2B systems into a governed enterprise platform.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, testing, and recovery processes to improve pipeline reliability and timely data delivery.
Data Modeling
• Design dimensional and star-schema models, conformed dimensions, and curated data layers that make analytics fast, consistent, and easy to consume.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to implement shared metrics, business rules, and reusable data products.
Data Governance & Quality
• Apply and improve data-quality checks, validation processes, documentation, and lineage practices in assigned data workflows.
• Implement and maintain role-based access controls (RBAC), security requirements, and established governance processes.
• Help maintain accurate, consistent, and trustworthy data within the organization’s Single Source of Truth.
Cross-Functional Partnership
• Collaborate with IT, Software Delivery, Marketing, Sales, and Finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical, scalable data solutions.
• Communicate technical findings, implementation options, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Organize and deliver assigned engineering tasks in line with agreed priorities, technical dependencies, and project timelines.
AI Enablement
• Collaborate with AI and innovation teams to prepare reliable data pipelines and datasets for AI-driven tools, recommenders, feature engineering, and business automation.
• Build and maintain governed, reusable datasets and pipelines that provide AI solutions with accurate, timely, and appropriately controlled data.
Basic Qualifications
• Proven experience designing and building a data warehouse or lakehouse from the ground up, rather than solely maintaining an existing platform.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python and SQL.
• Deep experience with AWS data services, including Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, and related tooling.
• Strong background in ETL/ELT pipeline architecture, development, orchestration, monitoring, and optimization.
• Solid expertise in dimensional modeling, star schemas, conformed dimensions, and analytical data design.
• Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, e-commerce, and marketing platforms.
• Demonstrated knowledge of data governance practices, including quality controls, access management, documentation, and lineage.
• Ability to work independently on complex technical tasks and collaborate effectively with other engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and implementation tradeoffs to technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage assigned priorities and deliver complex technical work reliably.
Remote Work Requirements
• Must be consistently available to work 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Lebanon time on a full-time basis.
• Must have a dedicated, quiet, and professional home workspace suitable for confidential business calls and video meetings.
• Must have a stable, reliable high-speed internet connection and an appropriate backup internet solution.
• Must have a reliable electricity setup and/or backup solution to maintain consistent availability during working hours.
• Must be able to participate in professional calls and meetings throughout the working day and maintain consistent responsiveness.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in retail, e-commerce, luxury goods, jewelry, or consumer products.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems.
• Experience with Magento, Hyva, retail B2B systems, CRM platforms, or digital marketing data sources.
• Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines, feature engineering, recommenders, or AI-driven products.
• Experience contributing to architecture discussions and documenting technical designs and implementation recommendations.
• Experience supporting BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau through well-designed data models.
• Previous experience working successfully in a fully remote and cross-functional environment.
