Role Review:
The IT System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of the organization’s IT infrastructure. The administrator ensures proper oversight, monitoring, and coordination, with the ability to manage Linux environments when required, and full responsibility for Microsoft 365 Exchange administration.
key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Oversight: Monitor hosted datacenter servers for uptime, performance, and compliance; escalate issues to provider support when necessary.
- User & Access Management: Manage Active Directory, group policies, and role-based access controls.
- System Monitoring: Track performance, storage, and logs; ensure proactive detection of issues.
- Microsoft 365 Exchange Administration: Manage mailboxes, distribution groups, policies, and ensure secure, reliable email service.
- Security Coordination: Enforce security policies and liaise with provider for vulnerability management.
- Backup & Recovery: Implement and test backup procedures, ensuring disaster recovery readiness.
- Incident Response: Troubleshoot application-level issues and coordinate with datacenter support for infrastructure problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in system administration.
- Requirement: Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Exchange administration.
