Role Description This full-time Professor role at HBRC is a hybrid position based in Cairo, Egypt, allowing a combination of on-site work and limited work from home. The Professor will conduct original research in housing and building-related disciplines, publish peer-reviewed articles, and contribute to national and international research projects. Daily responsibilities include supervising graduate students and junior researchers, delivering lectures and seminars, and participating in curriculum development and academic committees. The role also involves securing research funding, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, presenting findings at conferences, and engaging with stakeholders in government and industry to translate research into practice.
Qualifications
* Advanced academic background, typically a PhD in civil engineering, architecture, urban planning, building sciences, or a closely related field.
* Demonstrated research expertise with a strong publication record in areas related to housing, construction technology, sustainability, or urban development.
* Experience in university-level teaching, mentoring graduate students, and supervising research projects.
* Proficiency in designing and managing research studies, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
* Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and work effectively in a hybrid environment with both on-site and remote responsibilities.
* Strong communication skills for delivering lectures, presenting at conferences, and preparing technical and policy reports.
* Experience with research funding processes, including proposal writing and project management; prior success in securing grants is an advantage.
* Familiarity with regional housing and building regulations in Egypt and awareness of international standards and best practices.
