YOUR ROLE
- SpecifPlan the design and product deliveries according to the customer project time plan.
- Create, distribute and maintain engineering time plan based on EPM tool.
- Review and support BOM creation (initialization with RFQ team), the ownership of the BOM is within this role)
- Ensure that BOD reviews are conducted and actions taken to optimize design to improve harness manufacturability, and that they are aligned with project timing, starting with first physical harness samples with serial intent design.
- According to project timing, plan and initiate D-FMEA reviews, follow up closure of open items, and initiate handover to P-FMEA. Ensure the end to end flow to Control Plan is managed.
- Bring Engineering change requests to internal cross functional meeting and to customer decision meeting (ownership of the technical change is withing this role)
- Use and report engineering metrics
- Establish close collaboration and communication with plant Operational Project Leaders (OPLs) and ME Car Leaders.
- Follow up and ensure that all documents needed for PPAP are released and made available to plants according to project timing
- Support PM and manufacturing plants with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Process), by supplying necessary feedback
- Represent the main technical contact for the customer
- Understand the technical content of customer RFQ, RFI or advanced study, including BOM’s and specification
- Deliver a cost and weight efficient harness design
- Meet profitability target through engineering changes
- Manage and resolve engineering issues in a timely manner
