Day in the Life
You’ll begin by setting up multi-process operations—cutting, milling, turning, bending, and polishing—then validate program accuracy by running sample parts. You’ll measure features against drawings, make offsets, and, when needed, recall and edit G-code to troubleshoot and meet quality and production goals. Throughout your shift, you’ll safely handle materials, fabricate part-holding fixtures, and operate 2–3 CNC or manual machines at a time. You’ll load, cycle, unload, clean, and continuously inspect parts so they’re ready for the next customer in our process flow.
What You’ll Do
- Set up complex jobs; run sample parts to verify programs and dimensions per drawings.
- Perform multi-process metal operations: cutting, milling, turning, bending, and polishing.
- Edit G-code and apply tool/work offsets to resolve issues and achieve spec and throughput.
- Measure with calipers, micrometers, and tape measures; document all required inspections and tests.
- Maintain raw material and component inventories using established control procedures.
- Safely operate material handling equipment and protect product quality and equipment integrity.
- Fabricate fixtures to enhance safety, repeatability, and precision.
- Operate 2–3 machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and pace.
- Record accurate time and material data for production reporting.
- Keep the area clean, perform user-level maintenance, and uphold all safety policies.
- Cross-train across processes and help mentor less experienced team members.
- Organize work to meet the daily/weekly production schedule.
Shifts
- 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–4:30pm
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:20pm–2:50am
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED (Associate’s in CNC Machining is a plus).
- 3–5 years operating CNC and manual machining equipment; GibbsCAM experience preferred.
- Ability to run 2–3 machines at once.
- Fluency reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools.
- Strong knowledge of workholding, tooling, and safe machining practices.
- Self-motivated multitasker with solid organization and English communication skills.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude; willing to work overtime as needed.
- Physically able to perform all job tasks and lift at least 30 lbs.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate Windows systems.
