This role performs advanced diagnostics, leads maintenance teams, and ensures all power assets and modified training systems meet operational, safety, and visual replication requirements.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- * Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel and tactical generators.
- Conduct advanced diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, and fuel system faults.
- Perform VISMOD repairs, including wiring, lighting, structural modifications, and functional enhancements.
- Execute preventive maintenance, load testing, and performance verification on power generation assets.
- Maintain accurate service records, technical documentation, and readiness reporting.
- Coordinate parts procurement, inventory control, and equipment accountability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, technical manuals, and regulatory requirements.
- Support operations, logistics, and training schedules to maintain equipment availability.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance processes and system reliability.
QualificationsRequired Education:
- * Technical trade school certification in power generation, electrical systems, diesel mechanics, or related field.
- Equivalent military training (such as 91D, 91E, or related MOS) may be accepted in place of civilian certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Required Experience
- * Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience with diesel and tactical generator systems.
- Demonstrated experience performing VISMOD repairs, including electrical and structural component modification.
- Prior experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a maintenance team.
- Proficiency in advanced troubleshooting of AC/DC electrical systems, control panels, and engine performance issues.
- Experience working in field training environments or military support operations.
Desired Experience
- * Familiarity with Army or DoD maintenance management systems (GCSS-Army, ULLS-G, etc.).
- OEM certifications for generator platforms (e.g., Caterpillar, Cummins, Fermont).
- Experience with fabrication, welding, or custom component fitting.
- Knowledge of VISMOD standards, training aids, and OPFOR equipment configurations.
- Strong leadership skills in fast-paced or dynamic operational environments.
- Ability to obtain or maintain relevant security clearance.
