Kimpton de Witt, Celia Amsterdam and Super Lyan are only as good as the people it employs, that is why we picked you. You are outgoing and you love to meet new people. You are passionate, focused and driven about making every guest's experience 'ridiculously personal', making their visit unforgettable, in all the right ways.
You will be working with a friendly, international, motivated team and will work together to develop our full potential and ensure we all provide genuine heartfelt care to our all guest.
At Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam, we believe the first few moments of a guest's stay can define their entire experience.
As a Porter, you are often the very first person guests meet when they arrive and one of the last people they see before they leave. Your smile after a long journey, your local recommendations before a day of exploring Amsterdam, and your willingness to go the extra mile all help create the kind of memorable experiences guests talk about long after they've returned home.
This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys people, and making them feel at home. Someone who thrives on variety, loves being active throughout the day, and understands that hospitality is often found in the smallest gestures.
A Day in the Life
No two days look the same. Really!
One moment you're welcoming a couple celebrating a special occasion, helping them settle into their room and sharing your favourite hidden spots in the city. The next, you're assisting a family arriving from overseas, arranging transportation for departing guests, or helping a colleague during a busy check in rush.
You start the day with fun, because that's the core value of the Porter team. Why ask you to smile, when we can offer you one?
Throughout the day, you'll be moving between the lobby, guest rooms, and the streets of Amsterdam, acting as a host, guide, problem solver, and ambassador for both Kimpton and the city itself.
While luggage assistance is naturally part of the role, being a Porter at Kimpton is about so much more. It's about reading people, anticipating needs, creating connections, and making guests feel genuinely cared for from the moment they arrive.
What Makes You a Great Fit
We're not necessarily looking for someone with years of hotel experience. We're looking for someone with the right personality.
You enjoy meeting new people and naturally make others feel comfortable. You're energetic, proactive, and happiest when you're helping someone. You don't wait to be asked twice and you take pride in finding solutions. Whether you're giving directions, arranging a taxi, carrying luggage, or simply sharing a warm conversation, you understand that every interaction matters.
Because you'll be welcoming guests from all over the world, confidence in English is important. Additional languages are always a bonus.
Why Join Kimpton De Witt?
Kimpton has always done hospitality a little differently.
We celebrate individuality, encourage personality, and believe that genuine service comes from genuine people. You'll be joining a team that works hard, supports one another, and genuinely enjoys creating memorable experiences together.
For many people, a Porter role is the perfect gateway into hospitality. It offers exposure to every corner of the hotel, endless opportunities to learn, and a chance to develop a career within one of the world's most recognised lifestyle hotel brands.
Most importantly, you'll be part of a culture where attitude matters more than hierarchy, where growth is encouraged, and where bringing your authentic self to work is not only welcomed but expected.
