Overview / Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with strong ICT and ELV infrastructure expertise to develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules across the full project lifecycle. The role will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the timely delivery of engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, covering the complete project lifecycle.
- Prepare and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity coding, project milestones, and approved baseline schedules.
- Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis to identify critical activities, schedule risks, constraints, and potential delays.
- Monitor actual project progress against approved baseline schedules and conduct detailed schedule variance analysis.
- Develop recovery, acceleration, revised, and mitigation schedules to address project delays and changing priorities.
- Support Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analysis using accepted scheduling methodologies and supporting project records.
- Track engineering, procurement, material delivery, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Prepare accurate weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, S-curves, dashboards, and schedule forecasts for management and clients.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, engineering, procurement, site teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate planning and progress updates.
- Support project teams with schedule forecasting, progress measurement, risk identification, and timely corrective actions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Years of experience: 7–10 years of relevant hands-on planning and scheduling experience in ICT and ELV infrastructure projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Industry exposure: Strong experience in ICT, ELV, systems integration, or technology infrastructure project environments.
- Demonstrated experience in baseline schedule development, WBS preparation, activity coding, CPM analysis, schedule variance analysis, and progress monitoring.
- Strong experience developing recovery and acceleration schedules and monitoring progress against approved project baselines.
- Practical knowledge of construction sequencing, engineering workflows, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Tools & Competencies: Advanced or expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6, along with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Certification: PMP certification is preferred. Strong analytical, reporting, coordination, and written and verbal communication skills are required.
