About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Planning Engineer on behalf of a leading fit-out contractor in Dubai, delivering fast-track commercial, retail, and luxury fit-out projects across the city. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of design, procurement, joinery fabrication, and site execution — you will be responsible for ensuring every project phase runs on schedule, from initial baseline through to final handover. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with the pace and complexity of Dubai's fit-out industry and is comfortable managing multiple live projects at once.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Master Baseline Schedules in Primavera P6 / MS Project for multiple concurrent projects
- Sequence submittals, long-lead procurement, joinery production, and site fit-out activities to avoid delays
- Generate weekly progress updates, 2/4-week look-aheads, S-Curves, and manpower histograms for internal and client reporting
- Identify bottlenecks and critical path risks early, proposing schedule recovery plans before delays escalate
- Support EOT (Extension of Time) submissions and delay impact analyses with accurate, well-documented data
- Coordinate milestone targets and schedule alignment with Project Managers, subcontractors, and developer/landlord teams
- Track progress against baseline and flag variances to senior management in a timely manner
- Liaise with procurement and joinery production teams to ensure long-lead items are ordered and tracked against the master schedule
- Attend site progress meetings and provide planning input to support decision-making
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
- Experience: 4–7+ years as a Planning Engineer in the UAE, with direct experience in interior fit-out and joinery projects
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Excel; MS Project experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Dubai fit-out processes, trade sequencing, and authority/landlord approval workflows
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret schedule data and communicate risks clearly
- Strong communication and coordination skills to work across design, procurement, and site teams
- Ability to manage multiple fast-track projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
What We Offer
- Competitive monthly salary: AED 10,000–15,000, based on experience
- Opportunity to work on high-profile commercial, retail, and luxury fit-out projects in Dubai
- A collaborative team environment with direct exposure to project leadership
