Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based in Masqaţ, Oman. The Pharmacist will dispense medications accurately, review prescriptions for appropriateness, and provide clear counseling to patients on proper use, side effects, and drug interactions. The role includes maintaining accurate medication records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and managing inventory, including ordering and storage of pharmaceuticals. The Pharmacist will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support therapeutic decisions, participate in quality assurance activities, and contribute to patient education initiatives. Additional responsibilities may include documenting interventions, supporting internal audits, and assisting with training of junior staff or pharmacy technicians.
Qualifications
- Relevant academic background, such as a Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), from an accredited institution.
- Valid pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure in Oman, with strong knowledge of local regulations and pharmacy laws.
- Demonstrated ability to dispense medications safely, interpret prescriptions, and verify dosages and treatment plans.
- Experience providing patient counseling, including explaining medication use, side effects, interactions, and adherence strategies.
- Skills in inventory management, including stock control, expiry monitoring, and proper storage conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and commitment to regulatory and quality standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Masqaţ, Oman, and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Prior experience in community or hospital pharmacy settings is an advantage.
