Job Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and effective dispensing of medications while providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients. The role supports medication management, patient counselling, inventory control, and compliance with hospital policies and pharmaceutical regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense medications according to physician prescriptions and approved clinical guidelines
- Assess medication orders for appropriate dosage, potential drug interactions, contraindications, and patient safety
- Provide medication counselling and guidance to patients and healthcare professionals on proper medication use
- Monitor medication storage, stock levels, expiry dates, and inventory management to ensure availability and safety
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, prescriptions, and medication documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (BPharm, PharmD, or equivalent)
- Valid SCFHS professional classification and registration
- 1–3 years of relevant experience as a Pharmacist
- Hospital or healthcare pharmacy experience is preferred
- Good communication, organizational, and patient care skills
