The Overhead Line Design Engineer is responsible for designing high-voltage overhead transmission lines, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and project requirements. The role includes preparing design calculations, drawings, and material specifications, coordinating with project stakeholders, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review preliminary and detailed Design overhead transmission lines (HV/EHV) in accordance with applicable standards.
- Review and approve the EPC contractor's design deliverables, including, Layout, circuit diagrams, line routing, PLS-CADD models, tower spotting, structural calculations (towers/poles), foundation designs, FAT/SAT Method statement, FAT/SAT report, material specification, Insulators , OPGW and Hardware Fittings, control of bill of quantities etc..
- Review Sub-contractor approval request, Organigramme and CV’s.
- Review route and structural design assessments.
- Witnessing of factory testing onsite or online
- Coordinate with engineering teams, clients, contractors, and other third parties when necessary
- Coordinate with site team and support for any technical requirement.
- Response to technical & contractual communication to contractor and client, preparation of formal letter,
- Responsible to Schedule follow up with contractor and alert for deviation and support in mitigation plan identification with concerned parties
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning
Minimum experience :
- Minimum 5-years experiences in design or design review of 132kv and 220kv is a must.
- Experience with IEC Standards for Overhead Lines
- Experience for using the PLS-CADD program for all Voltage level for the design of Plan & Profile and Tower spotting , Wire Clearance diagram & Sag-Tension calculation ,Stringing Chart, Load acting on towers and detailed design of towers
- FAT experience is a plus
This is a short duration contract of 3 months.
