Job Summary
The Nursing Director is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for nursing services across the hospital. The role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care while overseeing nursing workforce performance, staffing, clinical standards, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of nursing services across all clinical departments and units
- Ensure appropriate nursing staffing, workforce utilization, competency, and performance to meet patient care and operational requirements
- Monitor nursing quality indicators, patient outcomes, and patient safety standards, implementing improvement initiatives where required
- Lead nursing managers and supervisors while promoting professional development, staff engagement, and a culture of clinical excellence
- Ensure nursing services comply with hospital policies, accreditation standards, clinical guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or a related field is preferred
- Valid SCFHS professional classification and registration
- Minimum 8 years of nursing experience
- Strong experience in nursing operations, workforce management, clinical governance, quality, and patient safety
- Healthcare or hospital leadership experience is required
