Job purpose:
The Network Team Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, monitoring, and support of enterprise network infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and compliance of LAN/WAN, data center, cloud, and security network environments.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor network engineers and support staff.
- Allocate tasks, manage workload, and track performance KPIs.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure best practices are followed.
- Provide escalation support for critical network incidents.
Network Operations & Infrastructure
- Manage and maintain:
- LAN/WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN
- Data Center Networking
- Cloud Networking (AWS/Azure/GCP etc)
- VPN & Remote Access
- Ensure high availability and redundancy design.
- Perform capacity planning and performance tuning.
Network Security
- Oversee firewall management (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco).
- Implement network segmentation and Zero Trust principles.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards (ISO 27001, NCA, PCI-DSS).
- Monitor and respond to network security incidents.
Architecture & Projects
- Design scalable and secure network architecture.
- Lead infrastructure upgrade and migration projects.
- Support digital transformation initiatives (Cloud/SASE/SD-WAN).
Monitoring & Tools
- Manage monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, ManageEngine, etc.).
- Ensure proactive monitoring and incident response.
- Maintain network documentation and topology diagrams.
Qualifications:
Must have technical / professional qualifications (knowledge & Skills level of presence in the job (High/Medium/Low)
- 7+ Years of experience, with minimum 2 years as a lead
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or engineering
- Experience in Network, operations, security, projects, design, architecture
- CCNP/CCIE security or routing and switching
- Experience in firewalls Fortinet & Palo Alto, F5
- Fin-tech background is preferred
- Experience in telecom provider connectivity and technologies
- Firewalls & NGFWs → Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower, Check Point
- IDS/IPS → Snort, Suricata, Palo Alto Threat Prevention
- SIEM & SOAR → Splunk, QRadar, Elastic, Chronicle
- DDoS Protection → Arbor Networks, Akamai Kona, Cloudflare, Radware
- WAF → Imperva, F5 ASM, Cloudflare WAF
- Endpoint & EDR → CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, Microsoft Defender ATP
- Cloud Security → Prisma Cloud, AWS , Azure Sentinel, GCP SCC
- Protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, STP, QoS.
- Technologies: SD-WAN, SDN, NFV, Load Balancers (F5, Citrix ADC).
- Cloud Networking: Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Cloud VPNs.
- Automation: Python, Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs.
- Monitoring: SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, NetScout, Wireshark.
