Insight Global is seeking an Automation Engineer to support and enhance Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Process Control Systems within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Operations, Process Engineering, IT, and project teams to ensure manufacturing systems are configured, validated, and aligned with both local and global standards.
What You'll Do
- Configure and support our Manufacturing Execution Systems platform, enabling real time production data capture, automated workflows, equipment configuration, and system integrations to ensure compliant, efficient manufacturing execution
- Schedule & execute plans in coordination with manufacturing schedules
- Operate as automation resource on projects that involve Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Own self-development & initiative to understand the site process control systems
- Adhere to the automation standards & implement the necessary changes to the automation-related specifications & maintenance plans
- Support audits & inspections for process control systems
- Utilize the appropriate cLEAN® tools within the main areas of Systematic Problem Solving, process improvement, & project management
- Operate within compliance with a Quality Mindset that focuses on risk management & mitigation
- Implement effective change management
- Support Corporate, PS, local IT, & local stakeholder initiatives & projects
- Participate in the development of new SOPs, best practices and maintenance procedures
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
OR
- Associate degree with 5+ years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utilities, or packaging environments
OR
- High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
Additionally:
- 3+ years of engineering experience supporting manufacturing, utility, or packaging systems.
- Experience with one or more MES platforms, including:
- Emerson Syncade
- PAS-X
- Experience with:
- DCS/SCADA systems
- SQL databases
- Microsoft programming languages (VB.NET, PowerShell, C#)
- Emerson DeltaV experience is a plus.
Preferred Background
- Manufacturing automation
- Pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environments
- MES implementation, configuration, and support
- Process control systems and equipment integration
- Continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
