Job Summary :
The successful candidate will provide overall leadership and technical direction for MEP delivery, managing multidisciplinary teams, specialist subcontractors, and package managers from design coordination and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
This position requires a strong combination of technical expertise, construction leadership, programme management, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management, together with a proven track record of delivering complex MEP systems on large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all MEP activities across the project.
- Lead and manage MEP Package Managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and specialist systems teams.
- Establish and manage integrated MEP delivery programmes, look-ahead schedules, installation sequences, and recovery plans.
- Monitor MEP progress against the approved master programme and proactively identify critical-path risks, constraints, and opportunities for recovery.
- Ensure effective coordination between MEP, civil, structural, architectural, and other project disciplines to resolve interfaces and prevent clashes and rework.
- Manage MEP subcontractor performance, productivity, manpower, plant, equipment, materials, and work-front readiness.
- Coordinate with Procurement and project leadership to ensure timely availability of long-lead equipment and materials.
- Provide technical leadership for shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, technical submissions, and design coordination.
- Ensure all MEP installations comply with approved design documents, project specifications, Saudi Building Code, Civil Defense requirements, and applicable utility authority regulations.
- Lead the planning and execution of testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, integrated systems testing, client inspections, and final handover.
- Drive timely closure of technical issues, NCRs, inspection observations, and commissioning deficiencies.
- Monitor MEP cost performance and coordinate with Commercial and Contracts teams regarding variations, subcontractor claims, and potential commercial exposure.
- Provide accurate and timely MEP progress information for project reporting and management reviews.
- Advise the Project Director and senior management on MEP-related programme, technical, quality, commercial, and delivery risks.
- Conduct factory inspections and off-site equipment inspections where required.
- Maintain strong HSE leadership and ensure safe systems of work are implemented across all MEP activities.
- Promote continuous improvement, lessons learned, technical excellence, and effective knowledge transfer within the MEP team.
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration.
- Professional membership of CIBSE, IMechE, IET, or an equivalent institution is preferred.
- HV/MV authorization and/or specialist certifications in fire protection, BMS, or related systems would be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 12 years of relevant MEP construction experience.
- Minimum 4 years in an MEP Manager, MEP Package Manager, or equivalent senior management position.
- Demonstrated experience managing MEP delivery from design coordination through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing major MEP subcontractors and specialist contractors.
Technical Experience
Strong technical and delivery experience covering several of the following:
- HV/LV electrical systems
- HVAC and mechanical systems
- Plumbing and drainage systems
- Fire protection and life-safety systems
- BMS and controls
- ELV and specialist systems
- MEP testing and commissioning
- Integrated systems testing
- Design coordination and BIM interfaces
- Technical submittals and shop drawings
- MEP construction planning and programme management
