Data centres play a vital role in society. Help us deliver the next generation of digital infrastructure.
The decisions made today will shape the digital and sustainable infrastructure of tomorrow. At COWI, we are intensifying our focus on data centres and strengthening our capabilities to support clients in delivering delivering the next generation of digital infrastructure.
We are therefore looking for an MEP Lead to join us on this journey, becoming an integral part of our growing organisation and helping evolve our data centre environment through your expertise in complex projects.
Be part of building COWI's data centre environment
Data centres are a strategic growth area at COWI. As we scale our presence in this market, we are enhancing our multidisciplinary capabilities and working closely with clients to develop reliable, efficient, and sustainable data centre solutions.
In this role, you will engage closely with clients, colleagues, and partners to develop and deliver data centre projects from early concept through design and implementation.
As MEP Lead, you will lead the coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and associated building systems, ensuring that all disciplines are integrated to create resilient, efficient, and future-ready facilities. You will play a key role in translating customer requirements into technically robust solutions while ensuring successful collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
You will join a professional environment with rapid growth and a clear strategic focus at COWI, where you can deepen your expertise, develop with the organisation, and help shape our approach to data centre projects and customer collaboration.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Lead and coordinate MEP design and advisory services for data centre facilities.
- Act as the MEP Lead throughout project phases from concept development to detailed design and implementation.
- Ensure technical quality, integration, and coordination across mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
- Support project development from early concept stages through design, tender, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Engage in technical dialogue with customers to understand business and operational requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate stakeholders across complex data centre projects.
- Support digital design processes, BIM coordination, and clash resolution.
- Contribute to the development of innovative, energy-efficient, and sustainable data centre solutions.
- Support business development activities and build client relationships within the rapidly growing data centre market.
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you will have:
- Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Have experience leading multidisciplinary building services projects.
- Have experience from data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial projects, healthcare facilities, or other technically complex environments.
- Understand the interface between mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in high-performance facilities.
- Thrive in multidisciplinary environments and enjoy working closely with clients and colleagues.
- Have professional proficiency in English.
- Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centre projects will be considered as a plus.
