Role Description The Mechanical Technical Office Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm Helwan. The engineer will prepare and review mechanical shop drawings, coordinate with civil and electrical teams, and ensure all designs comply with project specifications and standards. Daily tasks include preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), performing quantity surveying for mechanical works, and providing technical support to project and site teams. The role involves reviewing contractor and supplier submissions, resolving technical issues, and participating in coordination meetings to align mechanical designs with other disciplines. The engineer will also assist in cost estimation, documentation, and reporting to support effective project planning and execution.
Qualifications
* Ability to prepare and review mechanical shop drawings, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
* Strong skills in BOQ preparation and mechanical quantity surveying for budgeting, tendering, and cost control.
* Capability to coordinate and interface with Civil Engineering teams to ensure structural and mechanical integration.
* Capability to coordinate and interface with Electrical Engineering teams to align mechanical systems with electrical layouts and controls.
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design software; familiarity with project management tools is an advantage.
* Knowledge of applicable standards and codes for mechanical systems in building and industrial projects.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and quality.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary project stakeholders on-site.
* Previous experience in technical office roles, construction, or project management environments is preferred.
