Key Responsibilities
- Inspect company vehicles and golf carts, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, and identify appropriate repairs.
- Plan, perform, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and transmission systems, as applicable.
- Maintain electric golf carts, including batteries, chargers, wiring, motors, and controllers, in accordance with each model’s specifications.
- Diagnose and repair gasoline-powered golf carts, if included in the company fleet.
- Develop maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs that affect operational availability or safety.
- Supervise technicians, assign tasks, and inspect completed work before vehicles return to service.
- Identify required spare parts and coordinate with the Purchasing and Stores teams to ensure availability and suitability.
- Maintain records of faults, repairs, maintenance costs, and recurring issues, and prepare regular fleet-status reports.
- Enforce workshop safety procedures, particularly when working with batteries and electrical systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; an automotive specialization is preferred.
- 10–15 years of hands-on experience in automotive maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and workshop supervision.
- Proven experience maintaining golf carts; experience with the specific makes and models used by the company is preferred.
- Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and electrical testing tools, and to read technical diagrams.
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning, spare-parts management, and supervising technicians.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond to urgent breakdowns safely.
