Role Description
As Material & Production Planner, you will play a central role in ensuring that materials, capacity, inventory, and production resources are aligned to meet customer demand and operational objectives.
The role combines production planning, material planning, operational purchasing, supplier coordination, delivery follow-up, inventory optimization, and ERP data management. You will be responsible for translating customer demand into realistic production plans while ensuring material availability, data accuracy, and high delivery performance.
You will work closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Engineering, Customer Service, Quality, and suppliers, acting as a key link between planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and maintain realistic production schedules based on demand, capacity, material availability, and priorities.
• Plan and manage material requirements to support production and customer deliveries.
• Place and follow up purchase orders in accordance with sourcing strategies and established supplier agreements.
• Monitor supplier confirmations, delivery dates, shortages, and supply risks.
• Coordinate priorities between production, warehouse, engineering, purchasing, and customer service.
• Maintain planning parameters, lead times, routing data, operations, and operational master data in ERP.
• Analyze inventory levels, material availability, safety stocks, and working capital.
• Identify bottlenecks, planning challenges, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Support ERP development, planning data quality, reporting, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive actions that improve flow efficiency, delivery performance, and supply chain stability.
• Support inventory optimization initiatives by balancing service levels, lead times, stock value, and working capital.
Qualifications
• Experience in production planning, material planning, supply chain planning, procurement, or operational purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes, material flow, inventory management, and supply chain planning.
• Experience working with BOM structures, routings, production master data, and planning parameters is an advantage.
• Experience working with ERP systems and MRP-driven environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to make decisions based on data and business priorities.
• Advanced Excel skills and a high level of digital competence.
• Experience of inventory optimization, lead time management, and supplier coordination is an advantage.
• Understanding of inventory control principles, safety stock management, reorder points, and working capital optimization.
• Experience with iScala is an advantage.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, written and spoken.
