Role: Managing Principal / Director, Sector Lead (Originator)

The role:
We are seeking an experienced Managing Principal or Director to lead and grow a practice within one of our core sectors. This is an originator role, responsible for winning new business, building long-term client partnerships, and delivering senior mandates across retained, exclusive, and contingent models, depending on what best serves the client.
We are hiring across the following sectors and would consider leaders with specific knowledge in one of these sectors:
- Legal, covering law firms and in house legal leadership
- Sovereign Wealth Funds, Investment Management and Private Equity
- Technology, permanent hires across fintech, cyber security and technology leadership
- Banking across the GCC and wider region, outside of the UAE
- Front Office, covering Traders, Quants, Portfolio Managers and Hedge Funds
- Energy, covering traditional and renewable energy organisations
Key responsibilities:
- Originating new business and building a sector practice with a strong, sustainable pipeline of senior mandates.
- Delivering Director, Managing Director, Partner and CXO level searches through retained, exclusive or contingent engagements.
- Negotiating commercial terms that reflect a consultative, research led and data driven approach, including market mapping and talent intelligence.
- Converting contingent relationships into retained or exclusive partnerships where appropriate.
- Strategically expanding key client relationships across the region and internationally.
- Full P&L accountability for your sector practice.
- Recruiting, developing and leading team members as the practice grows.
- Contributing to company-wide training and development, as well as mentoring junior consultants.
The successful applicant:
The successful candidate should have the following:
- 5+ years of recruitment or executive search experience within the specific sector they will lead, gained at a globally reputed search firm or a well respected boutique.
- A deep, established network of senior clients and candidates within their domain.
- A proven track record of origination, high personal billings and consistently exceeding targets.
- Experience across retained and contingent delivery, with the ability to advise clients on the right engagement model.
- Genuine leadership skills, with the ambition to build and lead a team.
- Strong networking, business development and negotiation abilities.
- A collaborative, team based attitude.
