About the Client
Our client, a well-established bank in Qatar, is seeking a Manager - Restructuring to join its Asset Recovery function, reporting to the Head of Asset Recovery. You will take the lead on distressed and early-stress financing cases, building workable solutions that protect asset value, improve recovery outcomes, and limit credit losses, all within the bank's risk and regulatory boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and update the restructuring framework, operating procedures, and yearly plan
- Determine whether a case can be restructured through detailed analysis of financials, cash flow, business viability, and collateral
- Structure and test restructuring options, such as revised repayment schedules, extended tenors, repricing, additional security, or amended covenants
- Build credit papers backed by scenario modelling and recovery analysis
- Negotiate directly with borrowers, guarantors, and their advisers
- Drive each deal through due diligence, credit approval, documentation, and execution
- Track restructured accounts against agreed repayments, covenants, and milestones
- Escalate to collection, legal, or other remedial routes when a restructuring isn't viable or the terms are breached
- Keep portfolio data accurate and report on exposures, approvals, recoveries, exceptions, and emerging risks
- Supervise, coach, and develop a Restructuring Analyst
Key Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a similar discipline
- 10+ years in banking across credit, restructuring, remedial, workout, or recovery roles
- Hands-on experience analysing distressed credits, negotiating with borrowers, and leading others
- Strong financial analysis skills, including cash-flow forecasting and scenario modelling
- Solid understanding of restructuring structures, collateral, credit documentation, and recovery strategy
