Your role
Are you our next Manager of Simulators?
You will be a part of PU Fighter Radar and its System IVA and Test management team. You will report to the Head of System IVA & Test at Product Unit Fighter Radar. As manager you will have an important role within this PU:
- To develop vision, roadmap and goals for simulator development and sustainment and keep up to date on leading industry standards in simulation
- Lead the section that develops and provides high-quality environment simulators, enabling cost- and time-efficient development of fighter radar and software systems
- Further develop existing simulators and build new ones, enabling early software testing and verification of radar software whenever possible
- Maintain and evolve radar simulators for internal and external customers, supporting training purposes, test, early evaluation, and demonstration of new functions
- Drive the section's role as an integrated part of the PU's future automated development, test, and verification environment — a digital test infrastructure used across multiple test levels
- Maintain and develop the lab infrastructure together with your team. develop, maintain and sustain different type of simulators and emulators for complete or parts of our sensor systems or its environments
- Build and nurture collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including development teams across other Product and Business Units as well as external customers
- Manage, coach, and grow the simulator team, securing competence, delivery performance, and quality in everything the section delivers
All with the main purpose of securing efficient and timely product development and test, quality and customer satisfaction.
Business Unit Fighter Core Capabilities is a business unit within Saab Surveillance and has around 2000 employees. The Business Unit provides airborne sensors, avionics and self-protection solutions and has a strong presence in the global defense and security markets.
The Product Unit Fighter Radar is responsible for the business of Fighter Radar, Weapon Data Link and Missile Electronics. Furthermore, we are responsible for technical development within Fire Control Radars and Electronic Counter Measure systems and drive substantial R&D programs with the latest sensor technology. Product Unit Fighter Radar has around 170 employees.

- A communicative, structured, and performance-driven way of working
- A strong product understanding, a clear customer focus, and hands-on software development experience
- A genuine interest in system simulation, simulator architecture, and test environments
- The ability to set strategy and goals for development and test methodology
- The ability to efficiently coach development work to achieve the required time, cost, and quality targets
- A collaborative mindset, understanding the importance of building cross-functional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Familiarity with budgeting, vendor management, and contract negotiation
- Strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
- A technical bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least five years of experience in software or technical leadership positions
- Resilience and adaptability — you lead with confidence even under uncertain or evolving conditions
