Position Overview
The Luxury Watch Sales Associate / Advisor is responsible for delivering a highly personalised and professional client experience within a luxury watch boutique, authorised retailer, or premium retail environment. The role focuses on understanding client preferences, presenting and recommending luxury timepieces, achieving sales targets, building long-term client relationships, and representing the brand to a high standard. The position requires strong product knowledge, consultative selling skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to work with high-value products and VIP clients.
Key Responsibilities
- * Welcome clients professionally and provide a personalised, attentive, and discreet luxury retail experience.
- Understand client preferences, lifestyle, budget, collection interests, purchase occasions, and expectations through effective consultation.
- Present and recommend suitable watches based on design, complications, materials, functions, brand heritage, and client requirements.
- Develop strong knowledge of luxury watch collections, movements, materials, craftsmanship, complications, specifications, and brand history.
- Explain mechanical, automatic, quartz, chronograph, GMT, diving, perpetual calendar, tourbillon, and other relevant watch functions where applicable.
- Demonstrate watches professionally and explain technical features, finishing, materials, movement characteristics, maintenance requirements, and warranty coverage.
- Achieve individual and store sales targets while maintaining high standards of customer service and brand representation.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through clienteling, follow-ups, appointments, personalised recommendations, and after-sales communication.
- Maintain accurate client profiles, preferences, purchase history, enquiries, and follow-up activities using CRM systems.
- Develop and manage relationships with VIP, repeat, and high-net-worth clients while maintaining complete discretion and professionalism.
- Identify appropriate upselling and cross-selling opportunities based on client preferences and collection interests.
- Arrange private consultations, appointments, product presentations, collection previews, and VIP viewing sessions.
- Handle sales transactions, payments, deposits, invoices, certificates, warranties, and other required documentation accurately.
- Explain warranty conditions, service procedures, authenticity documentation, care instructions, and after-sales support to customers.
- Coordinate with service centres, watchmakers, after-sales teams, and brand representatives regarding servicing, repairs, warranties, and customer requests.
- Maintain accurate stock records and support receiving, transfers, stock checks, reconciliation, and secure handling of high-value watches.
- Follow strict procedures for product security, access control, safe storage, loss prevention, and high-value inventory management.
- Maintain showroom presentation, display standards, product cleanliness, merchandising, and brand guidelines.
- Support new product launches, collection introductions, exhibitions, private events, client evenings, and promotional activities.
- Keep up to date with luxury watch market trends, new releases, competing brands, pricing, consumer preferences, and industry developments.
- Provide management with relevant customer feedback, market observations, product enquiries, competitor information, and sales insights.
- Handle customer enquiries, concerns, complaints, returns, exchanges, and service-related issues professionally and discreetly.
- Maintain accurate sales records, client information, product documentation, and transaction records.
- Coordinate with Store Management, Marketing, Operations, Inventory, Finance, and After-Sales teams to ensure smooth customer service and store operations.
- Support opening and closing procedures, daily briefings, stock security checks, and other boutique operational requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding clients, transactions, pricing, inventory, VIP relationships, and company information.
- Participate in product training, brand training, sales coaching, and industry events to continuously improve product and selling knowledge.
- Contribute to a professional, polished, customer-focused, and commercially successful boutique environment.
Requirements
- * Diploma or degree in Luxury Retail, Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Sales, or a related discipline preferred.
- Previous experience in luxury watches, jewellery, premium retail, fashion, automotive, hospitality, or another high-end customer-facing environment.
- Strong interest in luxury watches, horology, craftsmanship, design, and premium products.
- Good knowledge of luxury watch brands, movements, complications, materials, and product specifications is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to deliver consultative, relationship-based sales rather than purely transactional selling.
- Experience working with VIP, high-net-worth, repeat, or international clients is an advantage.
- Strong sales skills with experience working toward individual and store sales targets and KPIs.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong clienteling and CRM experience, including maintaining customer profiles and structured follow-ups.
- Experience with POS systems, CRM platforms, inventory systems, payment processing, and retail administration.
- High level of attention to detail when handling high-value products, transactions, documentation, and customer information.
- Professional appearance, polished communication style, discretion, integrity, and strong personal presentation.
- Ability to handle confidential customer and transaction information appropriately.
- Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to create memorable and personalised luxury experiences.
- Good organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities.
- Ability to work effectively in a target-driven, fast-paced luxury retail environment.
- Willingness to work retail hours, weekends, public holidays, and special events when required.
- Knowledge of additional languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, or other international languages is an advantage.
- Horology, watchmaking, gemology, or luxury retail certifications are an advantage.
