Job Description
- * Manage the library’s electronic resources (databases, e-books, e-journals, and search tools).
- Coordinate with the finance officer and procurement department to submit required documents for renewing annual subscriptions.
- Negotiate financial terms and subscription plans in line with the library’s budget.
- Communicate with service providers to arrange trial access for new electronic databases.
- Provide support, guidance, and assistance to faculty members, students, and researchers on accessing and using electronic resources.
- Ensure continuous and easy access to electronic resources without interruption.
- Coordinate with providers to resolve access issues.
- Provide and analyze usage statistics for library subscriptions to electronic resources.
- Contribute to developing policies for acquiring and managing electronic resources.
- Provide recommendations to improve subscription strategies and budget allocation.
- Participate in preparing the annual budget plan for electronic resources.
- Knowledge of the research process.
- Follow up with faculty members to ensure their PURE (research information management system used by universities to collect, organize, and showcase research activity) profiles and research records are accurate, complete, and updated on time.
- Support faculty with ORCID-related activities,(ORCID is a digital identifier for researchers, helping distinguish their work from that of others with similar names.) including account creation, profile updates, and linking ORCID records with institutional research systems.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field .
Preferred QualificationMaster’s degree in a relevant field such as Library Science or Knowledge Management.
Expected Skills
At least 3 years of recent practical experience dealing with electronic resources in a research library or with an electronic resource provider.
