Job description — paste this into LinkedInThe Refined Luxury is looking for an experienced Leather Restoration Technician to join our Dubai workshop.
We specialise in the professional cleaning, restoration and colour restoration of luxury handbags, shoes and leather goods, including exotic skins.
We are looking for someone with strong hands-on experience in leather colour restoration, colour matching and leather cleaning, who understands how different leather types and finishes need to be treated.
Key responsibilities Professional cleaning and conditioning of leather goods * Colour restoration and recolouring of leather * Colour mixing and precise colour matching * Preparation and application of leather dyes, paints and finishes * Restoration of faded, scratched, stained and worn leather * Cleaning and restoration of exotic skins*, including crocodile, alligator, python and other delicate materials * Edge, corner and surface restoration * Identifying different leather types and finishes and selecting the appropriate treatment * Preparing items before restoration and ensuring a professional finish * Maintaining a clean, organised and professional workshop * Assessing the condition of luxury items before treatment * Documenting restoration work through before-and-after photography
What we're looking for Previous professional experience in leather restoration or leather repair * Strong experience with colour matching and colour mixing * Practical experience with leather paints, dyes, finishes and restoration products * Experience cleaning and working with exotic leather/skins * Excellent attention to detail * Strong understanding of different leather types and finishes * Steady hand and high level of craftsmanship * Ability to work independently and consistently to a high standard * Experience working with luxury handbags or footwear is highly desirable*
Advantageous experienceExperience working with luxury brands such as Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, Prada or similar luxury houses would be an advantage.
Experience with airbrush/spray application, leather painting and colour formulation is also highly valued.
