Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced litigation lawyer to manage and represent the company in labor disputes and cheque dishonour (cheque bounce) cases and any small to medium claims assigned from time to time. The role covers the full litigation lifecycle, from pre-litigation notices and filings to court appearances, settlement negotiations, and execution of judgments.
Key Accountabilities
Labor Law Litigation
- Represent the organization before labor courts, tribunals, and relevant authorities in employment disputes
- Handle cases involving wrongful termination, unpaid wages and end-of-service benefits, contract disputes, employee misconduct, and complaints filed by employees
- Draft and review show-cause notices, termination letters, settlement agreements, and employment-related correspondence
Cheque Bounce Litigation
- Manage the end-to-end process for dishonored cheque cases, including legal notices, criminal and civil complaints, and recovery proceedings
- Prepare and file complaints, petitions, and supporting documentation within statutory timelines
- Track case progress, hearing dates, and deadlines, and ensure timely compliance
- Pursue recovery through negotiation, settlement, and enforcement of judgments
General Litigation Duties
- Draft pleadings, written statements, affidavits, applications, and appeals
- Appear before courts and tribunals and present arguments effectively
- Maintain accurate case files, records, and regular status reports for management
- Conduct legal research and keep up to date with relevant legislation and case law.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B. or equivalent) is a MUST. Master’s degree in law is an advantage
- Valid license to practice before the relevant courts in the UAE is a MUST
- [3-5] years of litigation experience, with demonstrable work in labor law and cheque bounce matters
- Experience handling a high volume of cases and managing multiple deadlines
Preferred
- Experience representing corporate clients or working in an in-house legal team
- Familiarity with debt recovery and enforcement procedures
- Experience in mediation or conciliation proceedings
