Junior General Accountant

About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious Junior General Accountant to join our growing team in Maadi. This role offers exposure to the full accounting cycle of a growing B2B industrial company, including suppliers, customers, inventory, banking, taxation, payroll support, and financial reporting, alongside selected personnel and HR administrative responsibilities.
The primary focus of this position is day-to-day accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate, organized, and up-to-date records. Additionally, the role supports payroll, personnel documentation, social insurance procedures, and routine HR administration.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance Operations:
- Record and maintain daily accounting transactions and journal entries.
- Manage and reconcile Accounts Payable (AP) and supplier balances.
- Manage and reconcile Accounts Receivable (AR) and customer balances.
- Record collections, payments, expenses, advances, and petty cash transactions.
- Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate General Ledger (GL) records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain accounting records related to inventory and spare parts.
- Organize and verify supplier invoices, customer invoices, receipts, and supporting documents.
- Support the preparation and filing of VAT and other Egyptian tax requirements in coordination with external tax/accounting advisors.
- Assist with monthly payroll preparation, employee expenses, and related records.
- Maintain organized digital and physical accounting documentation.
- Assist in preparing management reports, expense analyses, and basic financial reports.
- Coordinate with operations, sales, service, suppliers, banks, and external accountants when required.
Personnel & HR Administration:
- Handle and maintain employee social insurance (التأمينات الاجتماعية) documentation, registrations, updates, and related administrative follow-up.
- Maintain employee personnel files, employment contracts, attendance, leave records, and other HR documentation.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding documentation and procedures.
- Handle routine personnel and HR administrative tasks, coordinating with relevant external or government entities when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, AP, AR, and GL.
- Basic knowledge of Egyptian VAT and tax regulations.
- Very good Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting or ERP software is an advantage.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain proper documentation while meeting deadlines.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial and employee information.
- Willingness to learn and grow into greater accounting responsibilities.
- Preferred: Previous experience in an import/trading company, with exposure to imported goods, foreign suppliers, inventory, and related accounting documentation.
- Preferred: Previous exposure to personnel administration, payroll, Egyptian social insurance procedures, employee documentation, and basic labor-law requirements.
