Position Overview
The Application Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, stability, and performance of business applications. The role involves troubleshooting, deployment, monitoring, and supporting application environments to maintain high availability and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2/L3 support for business applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Perform detailed application troubleshooting across architecture, runtime, integrations, and backend components.
- Manage and execute application deployments across development, UAT, and production environments.
- Investigate and resolve database‑related issues including SQL queries, schema validation, and data access errors.
- Monitor application performance using solution monitoring tools and respond proactively to alerts.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure seamless application operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and prepare technical documentation for recurring issues.
- Support change management, release management, and production go‑live activities.
- Maintain application logs, dashboards, and monitoring configurations.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, security policies, and operational procedures.
Mandatory Skills & Requirements
- Foundational understanding of application architecture and runtime environments (e.g., web servers, middleware, APIs, microservices, containers)
- Application troubleshooting – average to expert level Ability to diagnose issues across logs, runtime behavior, integrations, and backend systems.
- Application deployment experience Hands‑on exposure to deployment tools, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.
- Database expertise (SQL, schema, data access troubleshooting) Strong command over SQL queries, schema structures, and resolving DB connectivity or data issues.
- Solution monitoring tools Experience with tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, or similar.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in Application Support or similar technical support roles.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage critical production issues.
