Position Summary
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the hotel's heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily inspections of HVAC and refrigeration equipment and systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on air conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, including split units, FCUs, AHUs, chillers, pumps, and ventilation systems.
- Monitor and maintain proper temperature and humidity levels throughout the hotel.
- Check refrigerant levels, pressures, compressors, motors, filters, belts, coils, and other HVAC components.
- Identify and repair refrigerant leaks and other system faults.
- Clean and maintain filters, coils, drain pans, ducts, and other HVAC components.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and HVAC breakdowns, particularly in guest rooms and critical hotel areas.
- Carry out routine checks and maintenance of refrigeration equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, and cold rooms where applicable.
- Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new HVAC equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and spare parts are properly maintained and safely stored.
- Coordinate with other Engineering team members and departments to minimize disruption to hotel operations.
- Report major equipment faults, recurring problems, and required spare parts to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
- Follow all hotel safety, environmental, and energy-conservation procedures.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of refrigerants and other technical materials in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist other Engineering team members with general maintenance duties when required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering management.
