A leading alcoholic beverage company is looking for a qualified and experienced HSE Engineer to join its growing team and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Management
- Implement and maintain the company's HSE policies, procedures, and programs
- Ensure compliance with applicable local HSE legislation, regulations, and client requirements
- Conduct regular workplace and site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and practices
- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments for activities and operations
- Develop and review Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Safe Work Procedures
- Monitor compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, where applicable
- Ensure appropriate PPE is identified, available, and properly used
- Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations, hot work, confined spaces, excavation, electrical work, and work involving hazardous substances
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities and drills
- Provide guidance to employees and management on HSE matters
Environmental Management
- * Monitor compliance with environmental requirements and company procedures
- Support waste management, chemical handling, spill prevention, and pollution-control initiatives
- Conduct environmental inspections and identify potential environmental risks
- Support environmental reporting and maintain relevant records
- Promote initiatives to reduce waste, energy consumption, and environmental impact
Incident & Accident Management
- * Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare incident investigation reports and maintain HSE records
- Monitor corrective actions until closure
- Analyze incident trends and recommend preventive measures
HSE Inspections & Audits
- * Conduct routine HSE inspections, audits, and compliance checks
- Prepare inspection and audit reports and track corrective actions
- Support internal and external HSE audits
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with HSE requirements
- Maintain HSE documentation, registers, checklists, and records
Training & Awareness
- * Deliver HSE inductions and toolbox talks to employees, contractors, and visitors
- Develop and conduct safety awareness sessions based on identified risks
- Identify HSE training requirements and coordinate relevant training programs
- Promote employee participation in safety initiatives and reporting of unsafe conditions
Emergency Preparedness
- * Develop and maintain emergency response procedures and plans
- Participate in emergency drills and evaluate their effectiveness
- Ensure emergency equipment, fire-fighting equipment, first-aid facilities, and evacuation arrangements are appropriately maintained
- Support emergency response teams and coordinate actions during incidents
Reporting & Documentation
- * Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports
- Maintain HSE statistics, including incidents, near misses, inspections, observations, and corrective actions
- Monitor HSE KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement
- Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation
- Prepare presentations and reports for management and project stakeholders
Requirements
- * Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 3-7 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in construction, engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or project environments
- Strong knowledge of HSE principles, risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety management systems
- Experience conducting site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments
- Good knowledge of applicable HSE legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience working with contractors and subcontractors
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and identify potential risks before they result in incidents
- Good report-writing, documentation, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
