HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Manufacturing

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) with strong manufacturing/industrial experience to partner with plant leadership and employees across HR operations, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the manufacturing environment, including production operations, shift work, labor relations, workforce productivity, health & safety, and factory workforce dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership
- Partner with Plant/Factory Managers and functional leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into HR strategies.
- Provide HR advice and support on workforce planning, organizational structure, employee engagement, and productivity.
- Use HR data and business metrics to identify workforce trends and recommend appropriate actions.
- Support organizational change, restructuring, and business transformation initiatives.
Employee Relations
- Manage employee relations matters and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies.
- Handle disciplinary cases, grievances, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain positive relationships between management and employees.
- Support compliance with labor laws, company policies, and applicable regulations.
Manufacturing Workforce Management
- Support workforce planning for production, maintenance, quality, warehouse, logistics, and other plant functions.
- Work closely with operations to manage staffing requirements, absenteeism, turnover, overtime, and productivity.
- Understand and support shift patterns, shop-floor workforce requirements, and seasonal production needs.
- Partner with management to improve retention and reduce unwanted turnover.
Talent & Performance Management
- Drive performance management processes and support managers in setting meaningful objectives.
- Identify high-potential employees and support succession planning.
- Develop and implement talent development and career-growth initiatives.
- Coach managers on performance, leadership, and people-management matters.
Learning & Development
- Identify training needs based on business and workforce requirements.
- Partner with L&D teams to deliver technical, behavioral, leadership, and compliance training.
- Support management development and succession planning programs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Support salary reviews, promotions, incentives, and other compensation processes.
- Ensure compensation practices are aligned with company policies and market practices.
- Analyze workforce costs and provide HR insights to management.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of HR processes and policies.
- Maintain compliance with applicable labor legislation and internal policies.
- Work with HR Centers of Excellence and shared services to ensure effective delivery of HR programs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of HR experience, preferably with significant experience in a manufacturing, industrial, FMCG, automotive, pharmaceutical, or similar environment.
- Proven experience as an HRBP, Plant HR Manager, HR Manager, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing workforce practices and shop-floor HR.
- Experience handling employee relations and disciplinary matters.
- Good understanding of local labor laws and HR compliance.
- Experience with workforce planning, performance management, talent management, and employee engagement.
- Strong analytical, communication, coaching, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both senior management and frontline employees.
- Experience working in a shift-based manufacturing environment is an advantage.
