Qaiwan Steel Factory is hiring HSE Supervisor
The HSE Supervisor is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring all Health, Safety, Environmental, and UXO-related activities within the steel factory. The role ensures compliance with local government regulations and company policies while supervising the UXO Officer, HSE Officers, Environmental Engineer and Nurses to maintain a safe and environmentally compliant workplace.
Role and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures.
Ensure full compliance with local laws and safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections in rolling mill, SMS, warehouse, and plant areas.
Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Lead accident/incident investigations and prepare detailed reports.
Monitor and control high-risk activities (hot work, confined space, work at height, lifting operations).
Ensure proper use of PPE by all employees and contractors.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety training programs.
Maintain HSE documentation and records.
Supervise and coordinate with UXO Officer regarding detection and clearance activities.
Ensure compliance with government requirements for UXO handling and disposal.
Coordinate with HR & admin Department for Local Authorities (e.g., Directorate of UXO/Asayish if required).
Ensure proper safety perimeter during UXO movement and explosion operations.
Maintain records of UXO findings and clearance certificates.
Conduct risk assessments related to UXO areas within the plant.
Monitor environmental compliance (air emissions, noise, waste management, water discharge).
Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
Implement environmental protection programs within the plant.
Conduct environmental inspections and audits.
Coordinate environmental reporting to government authorities if required.
Promote energy-saving and pollution-reduction initiatives.
Supervise plant Nurses and ensure proper medical services are provided.
Ensure availability of first aid facilities and emergency medical equipment.
Monitor health screening programs for employees.
Ensure proper inspection of canteen hygiene and food safety (through nurses).
Maintain medical records confidentially.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
Minimum 5 years experience in HSE in industrial or steel manufacturing with at least 2 years experience in leadership position.
Strong knowledge of local safety regulations.
Experience in UXO coordination is an advantage.
Ability to conduct risk assessments and investigations.
