Position Title: Government Sales & Direct Purchase Specialist
Location: Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job PurposeWe are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Government Sales & Direct Purchase Specialist to develop government sales and direct-purchase opportunities across Saudi Arabia.
The primary objective of this position is to identify government demand, develop new business opportunities, and build strong professional relationships with government hospitals and healthcare entities for the company’s pharmaceutical portfolio.
Key ResponsibilitiesGovernment Sales & Direct Purchase
- * Identify and develop direct-purchase opportunities with government hospitals and healthcare entities across Saudi Arabia.
- Conduct regular field visits to government hospitals and relevant healthcare institutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with procurement departments, pharmacy departments, medical departments, and relevant decision-makers.
- Identify current and upcoming product requirements and purchasing opportunities.
- Follow opportunities from initial identification through quotation, negotiation, purchase order, supply, and completion.
Product & Portfolio Development
- * Develop sales opportunities for eligible pharmaceutical products in accordance with applicable regulatory and procurement requirements.
- Focus on products available for commercial development without conflicting with existing agency, distribution, or commercial arrangements.
- Develop government sales opportunities for registered products.
- Identify potential market demand and future opportunities for products under registration or development, subject to their regulatory status and applicable requirements.
- Support the market introduction of newly registered products.
- Coordinate internally regarding product status, pricing, availability, and commercial eligibility.
Business Development & Market Intelligence
- * Identify new government accounts and potential areas of demand.
- Monitor competitor activities, market developments, customer requirements, and procurement trends.
- Maintain an updated opportunity pipeline and provide regular reports on progress and expected business.
- Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, and Management.
Commercial Follow-Up
- * Prepare and follow up on quotations and commercial proposals.
- Follow up on purchase orders, product availability, deliveries, invoicing, and payment collection when required.
- Maintain accurate records of customer visits, opportunities, and sales activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- * Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, government sales, or business development is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong commercial and communication capabilities may also be considered.
- Previous experience dealing with government hospitals or healthcare procurement is an advantage.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Professional proficiency in Arabic and English.
- Valid driving license and ability to conduct regular field visits.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; CRM experience is preferred.
Preferred Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate should be proactive, commercially driven, and confident in dealing with government healthcare entities.
The primary focus of the role is generating new government business, developing direct-purchase opportunities, and contributing directly to the growth of the company’s pharmaceutical portfolio in Saudi Arabia.
